Dislocation

When my mind is clogged or I can’t seem to focus on something, I tend to distract my mind for a few minutes (sometimes, it lasts longer) — that’s where TikTok comes in.
It is a fabulous place to spend time because, amid awkward dance steps, funny stories and multiple interpretations of the bible, you could find some things that you could learn from.

I saw something in a video once on TikTok one day and it kept playing in my mind for a long time “Sometimes the answer to your prayers is what you lose!” (Hold this in your left hand)

Truthfully, I’ve not written in 2023 because I lost the motivation to — like the dislocated knee I sustained a few days ago — I think I had a mental dislocation. My mental space, just like a joint, went in the wrong direction and the will to put life into words drifted. Life happened.

Recently, I signed up for a personal development class, because I knew I needed something to bring me back to life. We were given this book to read “The 15 Laws Invaluable Laws of Growth — John C. Maxwell”.
The first 4 chapters aren’t chapters — they are slaps. Reading each chapter and then reviewing it? OMO!!!

Let’s just say my face is still healing from reading that book. In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been able to realign my goals, action plans and life generally — That book is everything!!!

Moving on…

Remember the prayer part? Yea, now lemme finish it.

Whatever you do, never go against your personal morals. Not for anything — not even money.

I was in Ibadan for a while. I had a swell time.

Met great people. Loved the food. Loved the way they abuse.
E dey burst my head steady 😂😂😂

Special shoutout to the people that made Ibadan a treat for me. Thinman and Mrs A. — God bless you.

Wrapping up the project I was in Ibadan for, I had 2 job offers.

The first one was a new business, we had a sit-down and spoke for about an hour. When it was time for me to speak, ofcos, I came out with plenty of English and terms just to show I knew what was required. It seemed like it was going to work out until we talked about money. Then he started to stutter — I just knew this person wasn’t serious.

The second one was a sweet offer.

She even said the money I wanted. I was so glad. Then I asked the woman what was required of me for the role and when the woman listed everything — I knew I was going to offend God if I took the role.

Myself and God are in a love-love relationship (let's not use the wrong words) but when I heard the terms and all for the role, I heard my spirit say…

Never forget…

Finally, It’s 365 days around the sun for me again and I leave you with this:
“You are not where you want to be, you feel like you should be somewhere else. Say you could snap your fingers and be wherever you wanted to be, I bet you’ll still feel this way — not in the right place.
The point is, you can’t get so hung up on where you’ll rather be, that you forget to make the most of where you are.
Take a break from worrying about what you can’t control.
Live a little.”

We are at that point in time, where we raise our glasses and enjoy the day on my behalf…

Happy Birthday, Lafiaji’s Finest. Gods blessings
